Fruit set of most plants depends on successful pollination by wind or animals

And coffee is the 2nd most traded commodity internationally and  occupies large areas of plantations and small farms throughout the tropics.  The scientific literature on the benefits of bee pollination for coffee is convincing.  You might know that the most important and diffused coffee plants are Arabica (Coffea arabica) and Robusta (Coffea canephora).

Now, Arabica plants are known as highland coffee plants and found above 1.200 – 1.5000 meters altitude.

Robusta requires cross-pollination by wind and insects; without the latter yields are lower.  - Arabica is self-fertile but bee pollination enhances quantity and quality of yield.

This is why bees are crucial for world’s coffee production. Therefore, if you love coffee, you should also love bees.
